Built around a series of courtyards and patios decorated with broken-china mosaics
and adorned with flowers and plants, this pretty family-run complex a few blocks up from
the beach was a former fishermen's colony. Friendly manager Ana offers 10 clean, colour-
ful and comfortable rooms with minifridges, plus a dozen apartments of varying sizes.
Breakfast (freshly squeezed orange juice, bread and seasonal fruit) is €5 extra, served in
your room or on the terrace outside.

The charming landlady has a little restaurant downstairs and six humbly old-fash-
ioned rooms upstairs that are little bigger than the beds. Doubles cost as little as €20 most
of the year. It's booked solid in August, when full board is mandatory. She also has a
good-value little seafront house for €300 a week in summer.

This shady, well-equipped year-round Orbitur site has a restaurant, bar
and excellent swimming pool as well as bungalows and fixed tents available. It's 2km east
of town, off the Alcobaça road.

Close to the action, this breezy newish hotel has gone for the chic modern look. Clean-
lined, well-equipped white rooms with artily presented photos of oldtime Nazaré contrast
with appealing black slate bathrooms. Despite the guest lounge looking like a design
showroom, this is an unpretentious, attractive and friendly place. As everywhere in this
party town, expect some street noise. Great value in winter, when a double is only €45.
