Getting There & Away
BUS
Mafrense ( 261 862 717; www.mafrense.pt ) buses stop at the bus station 800m north of the praça
(town square), off the N247 highway.
Connections to northern destinations such as Peniche and Coimbra are best made
through Torres Vedras (€3.55, one hour, six on weekdays, three on Saturday and one on
Sunday). Other destinations, with services roughly on the hour, are Lisbon-Campo
Grande station (€6, 1¼ hours), Mafra (€2.10, 25 minutes) and Sintra (€3.35, 50 minutes).
Getting Around
Regular local buses to Torres Vedras go past Praia da Ribeira d'Ilhas (€1.20). For Praia
Foz do Lizandro (€0.90), take any Sintra-bound bus to a stop on the N247 above the
beach.
You can rent bicycles from Go Out (
