lovely starters (including smoked salmon and clams with oil, garlic and coriander), plus
gazpacho in summer. It's near the former palace. The borrego assado no forno (roast

lock your purses at this place, housed in the former judicial jail, which dates from the 16th
century; the two storeys of the quadrangle separated male and female prisoners. The res-
taurant serves petiscos and main dishes. There's also an area for coffee and drinks under
the building's arch, a classy, romantically lit bar upstairs and a fabulous roof terrace (for
summer).
