Beaches
Praia da Bordeira (aka Praia Carrapateira) is a mammoth swath of sand merging into dunes,
2km off the road on the north side of the village, while the similarly stunning Praia do
Amado (more famous for its surf) is at the southern end of the village.
Sleeping & Eating
Despite the number of campervans you see around the place, camping here is definitely il-
legal - please think twice before joining the camping fray; the dune system is particularly
fragile.
Cafes and snack bars line the town's tiny plaza and keep long hours.

This pretty guesthouse has basic but pleasant, colourful rooms overlooking a flower-filled
courtyard. It's 100m from the road at the southern end of the village.

what these two rooms formerly were. Now they're contemporary and very sleek accom-
modation options, set on a grass lawn with views of fields beyond and lounging areas. The
stunning kitchen is for communal use (and breakfasts with homemade goodies). It's loc-
ated in Vilarinha, a small inland village just south of Carrapateira.
