of alternative performances

California's oldest wine
festival takes place at Sonoma
Plaza, Sonoma.
Folsom Street Fair (last Sun) .
Predominantly gay and lesbian
event between 11th and 17th
Streets. Music, comedy, crafts,
dancing, and beer garden. Pro-
ceeds are donated to charity.

Halloween (Oct 31). The night
is celebrated by thousands of
revelers dressed in costume all
converging on Market St. and
Castro St. Though no longer
sanctioned by the city, many
