groups. Based on the author's assumptions and calculations, it will be possible to increase the yield
of field or grain crops by 60%, a target to feed the world population of 9.1 billion people by the year
2050. To achieve this goal, improving/maintaining soil fertility (especially the use of N in adequate
amounts and proportions) will play a pivotal role in future crop production processes.
