is estimated that the rate of supply of the N fertilizer to oilseed rape has reached 200-300 kg N ha −1
(Schjoerring et al., 1995; Wiesler et al., 2001a), and it is still increasing year by year (Zhang et al.,
2010). Not much work has been conducted on the breeding of this crop. However, limited studies
show that a large difference exists in the genotypes of oilseed rape for N efficiency (Wiesler et al.,
2001a,b). It is also reported that cultivars with a high N harvest index has high N use efficiency
