Receiving Mail
Poste restante is known as fermoposta in Italy. Letters marked thus will be held at the
counter of the same name in the main post office in the relevant town. You'll need to pick
up your letters in person and you must present your passport as ID.
Public Holidays
Most Italians take their annual holiday in August, with the busiest period occurring
around 15 August, known as Ferragosto. As a result, many businesses and shops close for
a part of that month.
