palace is distinguished by its sumptuous burnt-sienna-coloured exterior. An atmospheric
and inexpensive boutique hotel, the rooms are all different, but share a sumptuous atten-
tion to detail with decorative painted wardrobes, canopy beds and even the occasional
chandelier. The public spaces include a small courtyard with its original well and an ex-
cellent restaurant.

Apr-Oct) A solar-energised 12-hectare farm that is committed to cultivating organic crops,
including olives, and offers massages and aromatherapy treatments, plus there's also a
small health shop on the premises. The rooms are simple, with superb views of Mt Al-
burni, and there are mountain bikes available for guests, as well as an excellent restaurant.

€90-140, incl breakfast; ) If agriturismi had stars, this one would have five. That
said, it is more like a boutique hotel than a farmstay. No one seems to be trudging around
in muddy boots here, although there is a surrounding farm and the animals raised do fea-
ture in the popular restaurant menu. The rooms are rustic, yet elegant, with wrought-iron
bedheads, terracotta tiles and a soothing green-and-white colour scheme. Cooking classes
are available during winter (€150 for three days), as well as regular wine-tasting courses.
