plenty of storage space. The dorms are straightforward and clean with lockers, while the
communal breakfast of rolls with cream cheese or jams and homemade cake is better than

Overlooking the fishing boats in the harbour, the rooms are a dazzle of white tiles with

sea view will cost €20 more. The satellite TV here is a rare treat in these parts, and a ma-
jor plus if you are suffering from international news withdrawal.

The perks of this family-run place include the position, right on the town's vibrant main
square, and the vast old-fashioned front terrace with its plants, vines and congenial grand-
dad, who has his own seat in the corner. The rooms are simply furnished but clean with
jaunty red shutters. Prices are very reasonable, even during the silly season (August).

Maria di Castellabate, this welcoming agriturismo is just one mountain peak away from
the town, so the views are superb, with the sea and the island of Capri beyond. The main
house is surrounded by trees, including lofty eucalyptus, citrus and olive trees, while be-
low there is a small farmyard with goats, geese, ducks and at least one donkey. In a totally
