chic, Hotel Pignatelli sits pretty in a restored 15th-century house. Rooms are decorated in
a rustic Renaissance style, with wrought-iron beds and bronze wall lamps; some rooms
also have original wood-beamed ceilings. Best of all, owner Ciro is warm and hospitable.

While its gritty address mightn't be perfect, this safe, relaxed
hostel more than compensates with its close proximity to Stazione Centrale, friendly staff
and modern communal kitchen (perfect after a morning at nearby Porta Nolana market).
All four dorms (one of which is female-only) are bright and clean, with modern bath-
rooms, while a couple of simple double and triple rooms come with private bathroom.
