Shopping
You can't miss Positano's colourful boutiques - everywhere you look, shop displays
scream out at you in a riot of exuberant colour. The humble lemon also enjoys star status;
it's not just in limoncello and lemon-infused candles, but emblazoned on tea towels, ap-
rons and pottery.
FASHION
Antonello della Mura
( 089 87 50 20; Via del Saracino 36) Fashionistas in the know come here for
exquisite fashions designed by Antonello himself, who studied at London's prestigious St
Martins College of Art and Design. Inspired by Roman frescoes, the printed scarves are
stunning enough to frame, as well as being hand finished, pure silk and Hermès quality (at
around €100 less). The feather-light women's fashions are similarly irresistible.
La Bottego di Brunella

( 089 87 52 28; www.brunella.it ; Viale Pasitea 72) This shop is one of the reasons loc-
al women succeed in always looking so effortlessly chic. It is one of just a handful of
boutiques here where the clothes are actually designed and made in Positano (most
boutiques import despite the sometimes deceptive labelling). The garments here are made
from pure linen and silks; the colours are earthy shades of cream, ochre, brown and yel-
low. There are two other branches in town, including a smaller boutique opposite Palazzo
Murat.

La Botteguccia de Giovanni

( 089 81 18 24; www.labottegucciapositano.it ; Via Regina Giovanni 19; May-Oct)
A reliable place to come for handmade sandals made by craftsman Giovanni in his small
workroom at the back of the shop. Choose the colour leather and any decorative bits and
pieces you want (shells are particularly well suited to Positano somehow…), tell him your
size and then nip round the corner for a cappuccino while he makes them. Prices start at
around €50.
