BAR
NOCELLE
A tiny, still relatively isolated mountain village, above Positano and beyond Montepertuso, Nocelle
(450m) commands some of the most spectacular views on the entire coast. A world apart from touristy
Positano, it's a sleepy, silent place where not much ever happens and where the few residents are happy
to keep it that way.
If you want to stay, consider delightful Villa della Quercia (
089 812 34 97;
www.villadellaquercia.com ; r €70-75;
) , a former monastery with spectacular views. For food,
Trattoria Santa Croce (
Apr-Oct) is a reliable low-key restaurant in the main part of the village.
The easiest way to get to Nocelle is by local bus from Positano (€1.20, 30 minutes, 17 daily). If
you're driving, follow the signs from Positano. Hikers tackling the Sentieri degli Dei ( Click here )
might want to stop off as they pass through.
