Three kilometres to the west of Vico, Marina di Equa stands on the site of the original
Roman settlement, Aequa. Among the bars and restaurants lining the popular pebble
beaches you can still see the remains of the 1st century AD Villa Pezzolo, as well as a de-
fensive tower, the Torre di Caporivo, and the Gothic ruins of a medieval limestone quarry.
