€25 (children €15) for a day-long outing to the Baia de Leranto. The company can also or-
ganise reasonably-priced accommodation and diving packages.
CELEB-STYLE SEAFOOD
The only one of the marina's restaurants directly accessible from the sea, Lo Scoglio ( 081 808 10
26; www.restaurantloscoglio.com ; Marina del Cantone; meals €50) attracts a steady ripple of visiting
celebs. Johnny Depp, Stephen Spielberg and Sienna Miller are all recent diners, while Elton John, Rod
Stewart and Michael Caine have posed for pics (on display) in the past. The locale is certainly memor-
able - a glass pavilion on a wooden jetty built around a kitsch fountain spurting into a pond full of fish
- and the food is top-notch (and priced accordingly). Although you can eat ravioli alla caprese and
steak here, you'd be sorry to miss the superb seafood. Sample such saltwater specialities as a €30 anti-
pasto of raw seafood on ice, followed by the local classic: spaghetti al riccio (spaghetti with sea
urchins). Despite the whiff of glamour surrounding the clientele, this is an unpretentious family-run
place, complete with grandma keeping a watchful eye on the till.

di Stabia.
Rising above Castellammare and accessible by an eight-minute cable-car ride (adult/
reduced €7/3.50; about 30 daily Apr-Oct) from the town's Circumvesuviana train sta-
tion is Monte Faito (1131m), one of the highest peaks in the Lattari mountains. Covered in
thick beech forests, the summit offers some fine walks with sensational views.
VICO EQUENSE
Known to the Romans as Aequa, Vico Equense (Vico) is a small cliff-top town about
10km east of Sorrento and just five stops away via the Circumvesuviana train. Largely by-
