To/From the Airport
Naples' Capodichino Airport ( www.gesac.it ) is the closest airport to Sorrento and the
Amalfi Coast.
Bus Curreri ( Click here ) runs eight daily services to Sorrento from Naples Capodichino
airport. Buses depart from outside the arrivals hall and arrive in Piazza Angelina Lauro.
Buy tickets (€10) for the 75-minute journey on the bus.
Car Numerous local and international agencies have desks at the airport.
Taxi A taxi from the airport to Sorrento costs around €80.
Bus
SITA ( 199 73 07 49; www.sitabus.it ) buses serve Naples, the Amalfi Coast and
Sant'Agata, leaving from the bus stop across from the entrance of the Circumvesuviana
train station. Buy tickets at the station bar or from shops with the blue SITA sign.
Train
Circumvesuviana ( Click here ) Sorrento is the last stop on the train line from Naples.
Trains run every half-hour for Naples (one hour 10 minutes), via Pompeii (30 minutes)
and Ercolano (50 minutes). Invest in a Unico Costiera card ( Click here ) .
UNICO COSTIERA
If you plan to do much travelling by SITA bus and/or Circumvesuviana train, then it saves money and
hassle to invest in a Unico Costiera ( www.unicocostiera.it ) card, available for durations of 45 minutes
(€2.40), 90 minutes (€3.60), 24 hours (€7.20) or 72 hours (€15). Aside from the SITA buses, the 24-
and 72-hour tickets also allow you to hop on the City Sightseeing tourist bus, which travels between
Amalfi and Ravello and Amalfi and Maiori. Several tickets can be bought at one time for repeat trips.
Note that the ticket-use time begins from the time punched on entering the bus or train, not from when
the ticket is purchased.
