( 081 99 80 29; www.montecorvo.it ; Via Montecorvo 33, Forio; meals €30) This is an
extraordinary place, with part of the dining room tunnelled into a cave and a terrace which
looks like it belongs in a jungle. Owner Giovanni prides himself on the special dishes he
makes daily, grilled meat and fish being a specialty, while the menu also includes a good
range of pastas and vegetable antipasti.
You will need more than a good compass to find this spot, hidden amidst lush foliage
outside Forio. Fortunately, it is well signposted. Fronted by lofty pines, a tumbling water-
fall and steep steps, prepare yourself for an exuberant welcome from Giovanni; he's that
kind of guy.
