In-Depth Information
called Miglio d'oro (Golden Mile) - a once-glorious stretch of road graced by 18th-cen-
tury villas - Viva Lo Re (Long Live the King) is a stylish, inviting haven, where vintage
prints and bookshelves meet a superb wine list, gracious staff and some of the best re-
vamped regional cooking around.
Start on a high note with the artful antipasto, whose row of 'tastings' may include a pol-
pettina di baccalà (salted cod patty), crocchetta di taleggio con porcino (taleggio and por-
cini croquette) and a ricotta-filled courgette flower. Topping it all off are some delectable
desserts, like a heavenly strawberry tartlet.
