ANM ( Click here ) buses serve the city and its periphery. Many routes pass through
Piazza Garibaldi, outside Stazione Centrale. This is where you'll find the ANM informa-
tion kiosk. See the Transport chapter for useful routes.
CITY TRAINS Metronapoli ( Click here ) operates three metro lines. Line 1 (yellow) and
Line 2 (blue) are the most useful. Line 2 runs from Gianturco to Garibaldi (Stazione Cent-
rale) and on to Pozzuoli. Line 1 currently begins at Piazza Bovia (Università), running
north along Via Toledo and on to Vomero and the northern suburbs. Scheduled for com-
pletion in late 2013, its extension will also see stops at Piazza Municipio, Via Duomo and
Stazione Centrale. Before this time, lines 1 and 2 only interchange at Museo (Line 1) / Ca-
vour (Line 2). Tickets (also valid on city buses, funiculars and trams) can be purchased at
kiosks, tobacconists or from automated ticket machines at metro stations.
Circumvesuviana ( Click here ) operates frequent services to Sorrento (€4, 70 minutes)
via Ercolano (€2.10, 20 minutes), Pompeii (€2.80, 40 minutes) and other towns along the
coast, departing from Stazione Circumvesuviana.
The Ferrovia Cumana ( Click here ) and the Circumflegrea, based at Stazione Cumana
di Montesanto on Piazza Montesanto, 500m southwest of Piazza Dante, operate services
to Pozzuoli (€1.20, every 25 minutes) and other Campi Flegrei towns beyond.
CITY FUNICULARS Three services connect central Naples to Vomero, while a fourth
connects Mergellina to Posillipo.
TAXI Official fares to the airport are as follows: €23 from a seafront hotel or from
Mergellina hydrofoil terminal; €19 from Piazza del Municipio or Molo Beverello ferry
terminal; and €15.50 from Stazione Centrale.

BOAT Suspended indefinitely, Metro del Mare usually connects Bacoli and Pozzuoli to
Naples and from there has services to Sorrento, Positano and Amalfi.
From Easter to October Amalfi, Positano, Salerno, Capri, Naples and Sorrento are con-
nected by ferry or hydrofoil.
CITY TRAMS Two lines run along the waterfront. Line 1 connects Mercato di Pog-
gioreale to Piazza Garibaldi, Molo Beverello (ferry terminal), and Piazza Vittoria in Chi-
aia.
