Getting There & Away
AIRPORT Capodichino (NAP; 081 789 61 11; www.gesac.it ) , 7km northeast of the
city centre, is southern Italy's main airport, linking Naples with most Italian and several
European cities, as well as New York. Budget carrier Easyjet operates several routes to/
from Capodichino, including London, Paris-Orly, Berlin and Geneva.
TRAIN Naples is southern Italy's rail hub and on the main Milan-Palermo line, with
good connects to other Italian cities and towns.
National rail company Trenitalia ( Click here ) runs regular services to Rome (2nd class
€10.50 to €43, 70 minutes to three hours, up to 30 daily).
BOAT Fast ferries and hydrofoils for Capri, Ischia, Procida and Sorrento depart from
Molo Beverello in front of Castel Nuovo; hydrofoils for Capri, Ischia and Procida also sail
from Mergellina.
Ferries for Sicily, the Aeolian Islands and Sardinia sail from Molo Angioino (right be-
side Molo Beverello) and neighbouring Calata Porta di Massa.

BUS Most national and international buses leave from Piazza Garibaldi.
Regional bus services are operated by numerous companies, the most useful of which is
SITA ( 089 405 145; www.sitabus.it ) . Connections from Naples include Amalfi, Pos-
itano and Salerno. You can purchase SITA tickets and catch buses either from Porto Im-
macolatella, near Molo Angioino, or from Via Galileo Ferraris, near Stazione Centrale.
CAR Naples is on the north-south Autostrada del Sole, the A1 (north to Rome and Milan)
and the A3 (south to Salerno and Reggio di Calabria).
Getting Around
CITY BUSES Airport shuttle Alibus ( Click here ) connects the airport to Piazza
Garibaldi (Stazione Centrale) and Molo Beverello (€3, 45 minutes, every 20 to 30
minutes).
