Chiaia) Exposed-brick walls and bottle-lined shelves set a cosy scene at Naples' best-
loved wine bar - just look for the evening crowd spilling out onto the street. Swill, sip and
eavesdrop over a list of well-chosen, mostly Italian wines, as well as a grazing menu that
includes salumi and cheeses (€12), crostini (€5) and bruschette (€6).
Nàis

( Via Ferrigni 29; 6.30pm-1am Sun-Thu, to 3am Fri & Sat; C24 to Riviera di Chi-
aia) Of all the aperitivo bars lining Via Ferrigni, Nàis is definitely our favourite. Tacky,
club-inspired decor is ditched for a warm, tasteful, convivial air, with friendly bartenders,
comfy suede banquettes and a book-lined shelf. Order a glass of vino, pick at the decent
aperitivo spread, and eye-up the candy crowd.
BAR
Intra Moenia

( 081 29 07 20; Piazza Bellini 70; 10am-2am ; ; Dante) Despite the sloppy
service, this free-thinking cafe-bookshop-publishing house located on Piazza Bellini is a
good spot for chilling out. Browse limited-edition topics on Neapolitan culture, pick up a
vintage-style postcard, or simply slip on that beret, sip a prosecco and act the intellectual.
The house wine costs €4 a glass and there's a range of salads, snacks and classic Neapolit-
an grub for peckish bohemians.

( www.fonoteca.net ; Via Morghen 31, C/F; noon-1am Mon-Thu, to 2am Fri & Sat,
6.30pm-1.30am Sun; Vanvitelli) Sip, groove and read away at hip Fonoteca, a hybrid
music store/cafe/bar. Hunt for CDs spanning electronica and classic rock to jazz, blues
and world, flick through art and music-themed tomes, or head straight to the slick back
bar for caffè, cocktails and edibles like bruschetta and salads. You can even surf the inter-
net (€2.50 an hour).
