Nemrut Dağı (Mt Nemrut)
Nemrut Dağı ( Click here ) is one of Turkey's classic images: decapitated stone heads,
toppled from statues erected by a less-than-modest pre-Roman king as part of his burial
mound, atop a 2150m peak. Linger in the rugged surrounding park and you'll discover oth-
er ruins such as Karakuş Tümülüs, with eagle- and lion-topped columns, and Eski Kale, the
ancient Commagene capital of Arsameia.
