There are lots of banks with ATMs in Ulus and Kızılay.

reasonably helpful and have lots of brochures. There are also (usually unmanned) branches at the otogar and train sta-
tion.
Getting There & Away
Air
Domestic and international budget carriers serve Ankara's Esenboğa airport ( Click here ) .
Lufthansa, Pegasus Airlines and Qatar Airways offer international connections, while An-
adolu Jet ( www.anadolujet.com ; THY Oice, Atatürk Bulvarı 211) has direct flights to/from destin-
ations including Antalya, Bodrum, İstanbul, İzmir and Van.
Bus
Every Turkish city or town of any size has direct buses to/from Ankara. The gigantic
AŞTİ (Ankara Şehirlerarası Terminali İşletmesi; Mevlâna Bulvarı) otogar is at the western end of
the Ankaray underground train line, 4.5km west of Kızılay. Services include İstanbul ( " 40,
six hours).
Apart from during public holidays, you can often turn up, buy a ticket and be on your way
in less than an hour. The emanet (left-luggage room) charges " 4 per item; you'll need to
show your passport.
Train
Services between Ankara Train Station (Ankara Garı; Talat Paşa Bulvarı) and İstanbul have
been cancelled until at least 2014.
The high-speed services to Eskişehir (economy/business class " 25/35, 1½ hours, 10 daily)
and Konya (economy/business class " 25/35, two hours, eight daily) are comfortable, fast
and efficient. Other destinations include İzmir and cities throughout eastern Anatolia.
