Cappadocia & Central Anatolia
Itineraries

key, but by focusing on a few key areas, you can cover
the major sights - not least Cappadocia's fairy chimneys
- in a reasonable amount of time.

Formations

example of Turkey's less- visited classical ruins. Next, take your first look at Anatolia's
spectacular rock formations in (2) Pamukkale , with its powder-white mountain of calcite
travertines. You can swim among sunken pillars in the classical spa city Hierapolis.
Refreshed, head across the Anatolian plains to (3) Sagalassos , a ruined mountaintop
city that the Seljuks and Byzantines fought over. Relax after this rocky site in lakeside (4)
