Sagalassos
Ancient Sagalassos ( Click here ) is the quintessential romantic ruin, its fountains, baths,
monuments and 7000-seat theatre strewn among the peaks of Ak Dağ (White Mountain).
One of the Mediterranean region's largest archaeological projects, the city thrived under the
Romans and became a Christian Byzantine outpost before declining during the Ottoman
Empire. Today, it's the very antithesis of the busy 'Ephesus experience', with panoramic
views over the mountains and plains.
