Fethiye's most recognisable sight is the Tomb of Amyntas Offline map Google map (admis-
sion " 8; 8am-7pm May-Oct, to 5pm Nov-Apr) , an Ionic temple facade carved into the rock face
in 350 BC. Located south of the centre, it is best visited at sunset. Other, smaller rock
tombs lie about 500m to the east.
Behind the harbour in the town centre is a partially excavated 2nd-century BC Roman
theatre Offline map Google map . In town you'll see curious Lycian stone sarcophagi
Offline map Google map (circa 450 BC), including one north of the belediye Offline map
Google map (city hall).

On the hillside above town (along the Kayaköy road), you can't miss the ruined tower
of a Crusader fortress Offline map Google map , built by the Knights of St John at the start
of the 15th century on earlier (perhaps Lycian, Greek and Roman) foundations.
