Getting There & Around
Meander Travel ( www.meandertravel.com ; Kıbrıs Caddesi 1; 9am-9pm) operates ferries to
Samos (Greece; single/same-day return €35/40; daily departures April to October) and,
like most Kuşadası travel agencies, sells tickets.
Kuşadası's otogar is at Kahramanlar Caddesi's southern end, on the bypass highway. Bus
companies on İsmet İnönü Bulvarı sell tickets and offer free servis (shuttle minibuses) to
it.
Buses include Bodrum ( " 25, 2½ hours, three daily in summer); in winter you can take a
dolmuş to Söke ( " 5, at least every 30 minutes year-round).
For İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport, make the short trip to Selçuk ( Click here ) and catch
the train; or take a bus to İzmir otogar and switch to the local bus. A taxi costs around
" 160.
Şehiriçi minibuses ( " 1.50) run every few minutes in summer (every 15 to 20 in winter)
from Kuşadası otogar to the centre, and along the coast.

Although more than one million tourists flock to its beaches, boutique hotels and clubs
each summer, Bodrum (Halicarnassus in ancient times) never loses its cool. More than
any other Turkish seaside getaway, it has an enigmatic elegance, from the town's grand
crowning castle and glittering marina to its flower-filled cafes and white-plastered back-
streets. Even in the most hectic days of high summer, you can still find little corners of
serenity, in the town and especially in its outlying coastal villages.
