Didyma
Didyma's Temple of Apollo ( Click here ) , once the ancient world's second-largest temple
(with 122 columns), helps visitors to visualise the lost grandeur of Selçuk's desiccated
Temple of Artemis, which was the largest (with 127 columns). Thick, towering columns
still stand here, as they did when this Oracle of Apollo had an importance second only to
the Oracle of Delphi. Covered ramps lead to the cella (inner room) where the oracle proph-
esied.
