the best restaurant serving alcohol. The outdoor terrace and school-cafeteria-style interior
have panoramic views and reasonable food. It's located in a park 300m up the hill behind
the main street. You should avoid walking alone in the area at night.

1 KONAK CLOCK TOWER

(Saat Kulesi; Konak Meydanı) This late-Ottoman clock tower, designed by the Levantine
French architect Raymond Charles Père, was built in 1901 to mark the 25th an-
niversary of Sultan Abdül Hamit II's coronation. Its ornate Orientalist style may have
been meant to atone for Smyrna's European ambience.

tahya tiles.
