Android is 3 rd
Party Friendly
While all mobile phone brands of any success have established a marketplace for them-
selves, Android is both incredibly popular for consumers and accessible for developers and
hardware manufacturers. Although Google makes some of it's own devices, there are many
big 3 rd party companies that integrate the Android OS onto their hardware. With a one time
$25 sign-up fee, literally anyone with programming knowledge can create an app and up-
load it to the store. Since 2014 its surpassed even iOS in the number of apps released to the
store and held the majority market share of devices sold for years. When indie developers
and companies have to compete hard to sell their products to consumers, the customer gets
to benefit from being able to casually shop for the best phones and the best apps out there.
