multidimensional view and deeper insight into their customers and busi-
ness. Analyzing large data sets (big data) is now becoming the cornerstone
of competition, productivity, and innovation in all industries. Big data is
now seen as a transformational opportunity and will become a key basis
of competition and growth for organizations capturing value from tradi-
tional and real-time information. While numerous advances have been
made in mining the data, the success of big data will eventually depend
on the quality and integration of data. To capture the full potential of big
data, the importance of data governance cannot be emphasized enough.
