di Leuca , then take two days to lap up the sugar-soft, white sand beaches of the Baia dei
Turchi in Otranto . Next stop: Lecce , home to some of Italy's most extraordinary baroque
architecture. Spend three days here, making a side trip to Galatina to admire its astound-
ingly frescoed 14th-century basilica. From Lecce, it's an easy onward jump to transport
