Getting There & Away
BUS
The intercity bus station and ticket booths are located on Piazza Rosselli. Autoservizi Ca-
milleri ( 092 247 18 86; www.camilleriargentoelattuca.it ) runs buses to Palermo (€8.70, two hours)
five times Monday to Saturday and once on Sunday; Cuffaro ( 091 616 15 10; www.cuffaro.inf o)
offers more frequent Palermo services - three to eight departures daily. SAL (Società Autolinee
Licata; www.autolineesal.it ) also offers direct service to Palermo's Falcone-Borsellino airport
(€12.10, 2½ hours, four Monday to Saturday). Lumia ( 092 22 04 14; www.autolineelumia.it ) has
departures to Trapani and its Birgi Airport (€11.80, three to four hours, three daily
Monday to Saturday, one on Sunday); and SAIS (
092 22 93 24; www.saistrasporti.it ) runs buses
to Catania (€12.40, three hours, 10 to 15 daily).
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
The SS189 links Agrigento with Palermo, while the SS115 runs along the coast, northwest
towards Trapani and southeast to Syracuse.
Driving in the medieval town is near impossible due to all the pedestrianised streets.
There's metered parking at the train station and free parking along Via Esseneto just be-
low.
TRAIN
From Agrigento Centrale station (Piazza Marconi), direct trains run regularly to Palermo
(€8.30, 2¼ hours, seven to 10 daily). Service to Catania (€10.40 to €14.50, four hours) is
less frequent and usually requires a change of trains. For other destinations, you're better
off taking the bus.
