strom, the charming eatery is tucked away in a quiet corner of Ortygia. On warm summer
evenings the outdoor terrace is the place to sit, with al fresco tables on a tranquil cobbled
square in front of Syracuse's 13th-century castle. The food is traditional Sicilian; expect
plenty of tuna and swordfish and some wonderful pastas.

and not particularly enticing hike to this seafront restaurant, but once you're there you'll
appreciate the effort. Inside it's all exposed brickwork and rusty farm tools; outside on the
terrace it's pure bliss, with the sun in your face, a cooling sea breeze and dreamy views.
Not surprisingly, fish features heavily on the menu.

This elegant restaurant with top-notch service is full of classy surprises: 'black' king
prawns in a thick almond cream soup, red snapper with fig and lemon, tagliata di tonno

dessert. Slow Food recommended.
