In-Depth Information
There are dozens of restaurants, but the food can be surprisingly mundane and the ubiquit-
ous tourist menus can quickly pall.
Ti Vitti
( www.ristorantetivitti.com ; Via Umberto I 34; meals €30-40) At this up-and-coming eatery named after a
Sicilian card game, talented young chef Vincenzo Collaro whips up divine pasta, fresh-
from-the-market fish dishes and some of the best cannoli you'll find anywhere in Sicily.
His insistence on using only the freshest ingredients means no swordfish out of season,
and special, locally sourced treats such as basilisco mushrooms from the Monte Madonie.

La Botte
( 092 142 43 15; www.labottecefalu.com ; Via Veterani 20; meals €30-35; 12.30-2.30pm & 7.30-10.30pm Tue-
Sun) This small, family-run restaurant just off Corso Ruggero serves a good choice of anti-
pasti, seasonally driven pasta dishes and seafood-dominated mains. The fixed menu of
three fish courses plus a side dish offers good value.
SICILIAN €€
La Galleria
( 092 142 02 11; www.lagalleriacefalu.it ; Via Mandralisca 23; meals €25-40; closed Thu year-round & Mon in
winter) This is about as hip as Cefalù gets. Functioning as a restaurant, cafe, internet point,
bookshop and occasional gallery space, La Galleria has an informal vibe, an internal
garden and an innovative menu that mixes standard primi and secondi with a range of pi-
atti unici (€12-15), each designed to be a meal in itself.
