Cefalù's crescent-shaped beach, just west of the medieval centre, is lovely, but in the sum-
mer get here early to find a patch for your umbrella and towel. You can escape with a boat
tour along the coast during the summer months with several agencies located along Corso
Ruggero.

the waterfront has rooms of varying size, from a cramped single with one minuscule win-
dow to the Ruggero room, a palatial space sleeping up to four, with a vaulted frescoed
ceiling, decorative tile floors and French doors offering grand views of Cefalù's medieval
centre. All guests share access to a small terrace overlooking the sea.
B&B
Hotel Kalura

on a rocky outcrop, this German-run, family-oriented hotel has its own pebbly beach, res-
taurant and fabulous pool. Most rooms have sea views and the hotel arranges loads of
activities, including mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, pedaloes, diving and dance nights.
It's a 20-minute walk into town.

La Plumeria

hotel's big selling point is its perfect location between the duomo and the waterfront, with
free parking a few minutes away. Rooms are unexceptional, but clean and well appointed.
Room 301 on the top floor is the sweetest of the lot, a cosy eyrie with checkerboard tile
floors and a small terrace looking up to the duomo .
