This bar of choice for the city's avant garde occupies the remnants of a
handsome early-19th-century palace next to the 16th-century town gate, Porta dei Greci.
Recline on silk-covered divans beneath soaring vaulted ceilings and choose from an ex-
tensive list of cocktails and snacks while listening to live music or selections from the in-
house DJ.
There's a roaring fire in winter, plus art exhibits, a good program of music and literary
events and a bookstore with foreign newspapers. Meals (around €30) are served on the
leafy patio upstairs.
