(Via Mercanti 75; pastries from €1.50; 8am-2pm & 4.30-8.30pm, morning only Tue & Sun) Where better to
commit dietary sins than in a deconsecrated church? It's now home to Salerno's finest
pastry shop, best known for inventing the scazzetta, a pastry of pan di spagna sponge,
fresh berries and Chantilly cream, soaked in Strega liqueur and finished with a strawberry
glacé. Wash down the guilt with a glass of the house liqueur, Elisir, made with aromatic
herbs and orange.
