X-Form
The X-Form command is a powerful feature that is used to create ergonomic shapes. This
command allows you push and pull on a surface to create complex shapes that are otherwise
difficult to produce. An X-form can be applied to any face. It can be a surface or a face of a
solid body.
To create an X-form surface, activate the X-Form command (on the ribbon, click Surface
> Edit Surface > X-Form ) and select a face. On the X-Form dialog, under the Paramet-
erization section, specify the Degree and Patches values. A mesh appears on the selected
surface. You will also notice that poles appear on the mesh.
You can drag these poles to change the shape of the face.
You can use the triad to push and pull on the surface along the three directions (X, Y and Z).
For example, if you want to pull the surface along the Z-direction, select the Z-axis vector
and drag the poles. This pushes or pulls the surface along the Z-direction.
