Revolved Surface
To create a revolved surface, first create an open or closed profile and the axis of revolution.
Activate the
Revolve
command and select the sketch. On the
Revolve
dialog, under the
Axis
section, click
Specify Vector
and select the axis. Type-in the angle of revolution in
the
End
box and click
OK
.
Even if you create an enclosed surface, NX will not recognize it as a solid body. You can
examine this by activating the
Measure Bodies
command (on the ribbon, click
Analysis >
Measure > More > Measure Bodies
). You will notice that you are not able to select the
surface body. This means that there exists no solid body. You will learn to convert a surface
body into a solid later in this chapter.
