converted Edo-period bathhouse
in the endearingly old district of
Yanaka. It showcases well-known
experimental Japanese artists, in
addition to helping to introduce

This is one of the oldest
photo galleries in Tokyo, with a
huge collection of images that
encompasses 19th-century prints
and the work of masters in the
order of Man Ray and Lee
Friedlander. Controversial
Japanese artists, including photo-
grapher Ryoko Suzuki, and big
international names ensure that
the shows are always stimulat-
