Getting There & Away
From Piazza del Mercato or Piazzale Garibaldi (at the time of writing authorities were
considering changing from the former to the latter), Etruria Mobilità buses connect the
town with Arezzo (€3.50, one hour, frequent) via Castiglion Fiorentino (€2.30).
The city is on the north-south SS71 that runs to Arezzo. It's also close to the Si-
ena-Bettolle-Perugia autostrada, which connects to the A1. There are paid car parks
around the circumference of the city walls and a free car park at Parcheggio San Spirito
Santo that is connected to the historical centre by a scala mobile . A ZTL applies inside the
walls.
The nearest train station is located about 6km away at Camucia, and can be accessed via a
local bus (€1.30, 15 minutes, hourly). Destinations include Arezzo (€3.30, 25 minutes,
hourly), Florence (€9.80, 1¾ hours, hourly), Rome (€11.15, 2¼ hours, eight daily), Peru-
gia (€4.25, 55 minutes, six daily) and Orvieto (€7, 55 minutes, seven daily).
Note that Camucia station has no ticket office, only machines. If you need assistance
purchasing or booking tickets, you'll need to go to the station at Terontola, south of
Camucia, instead.
