Piazza Garibaldi are an attractive option for self-catering guests who want to stay for a
while (rates drop for stays of more than two nights). The building's conversion hasn't
been handled as cleverly as it could have been, but the strangely arranged spaces are com-
fortable and reasonably well equipped, with good bathrooms.

(Via Moncini 8; 9am-10pm Mar-Jan, closed Sun & Mon Feb) Owner Magdy Lamei may not be a
local (in fact, he's from Cairo), but it would be hard to find anyone else as knowledgeable
and passionate about local artisanal produce. Come here for a tasting of local wines, or to
stock up on picnic provisions including wine, jams, cheese and cured meats.
