THREE PERFECT DAYS
Day 1: David Tour
Follow the world's most famous naked man: start with Michelangelo's original in the Galleria
dell'Accademia, saunter past Piazza della Signoria's famous copy, then hit Museo del Bargello to see
versions by Donatello and Andrea Verrocchio. Enjoy other Michelangelo creations in the Biblioteca
Medicea Laurenzia and Basilica di Santo Spirito; watch the sun set from Piazzale Michelangelo.
Day 2: Both Sides of the Arno
Spend the morning at the Uffizi, followed by a gourmet sandwich at 'Ino, or a wine-bar lunch at
Cantinetta dei Verrazzano or La Canova di Gustavino. Should you have organised it in advance, take a

at Procacci. Come evening, cross the Arno

Day 3: No Art Please!
Begin on Piazza della Signoria with breakfast at Caffè Rivoire, then visit the Gucci Museo and have a
coffee in its cafe. Walk to the river, where Museo Galileo enthrals. Cross Ponte Vecchio for lunch at Il
Ristoro or Olio & Convivium, then walk to Palazzo Pitti, behind which the city's loveliest green
space, Giardino di Boboli, unfolds. Indulge in afternoon tea with a view in Giardino Bardini, then
head east to San Niccolò. Savour the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo and dinner at a Piazza Santo
Spirito eatery.

Getting Around
Regular buses link Florence and Pisa airports with Florence's central train station,
Stazione di Santa Maria Novella, from where the city centre is a 10-minute walk. Florence
itself is small and best navigated on foot, with most major sights within easy walking dis-
tance. There are bicycles for rent and an efficient network of buses and trams. Unless
you're mad, forget a car.
