the final certificate, the contractor may consider that there is a dispute and refer it to adju-
dicationimmediately.Thatmaybethebestoutcome;otherwisethecontractorcancontinue
submittinginformationatintervalsformonths.Alternatively,thearchitectmaytakeashort
periodtoconsider whether theinformation appears toaddanything towhatwaspreviously
submitted. If no, the final certificate should be issued. If yes, the architect should consider
the information and, if appropriate, ascertain, or instruct the quantity surveyor to ascertain,
the loss and/or expense. That will also necessitate a revised final account from the quantity
surveyor.
