Itissometimessaidthatliquidateddamagesarenotonlydamagesduetotheemployerin
thecaseofabreachonthepartofthecontractortocompleteintime,buttheyarealsotobe
regarded as the price payable by the contractor for the option of taking longer to complete.
This case shows that such a view is not correct.
