SICILIAN IGP & DOP VARIETIES
A number of Sicilian food specialities have earned special recognition under Italy's national DOP (protected ori-
gin) program and the European Union's IGP (protected geographical indication) program. These designations
help promote and safeguard the reputations of quality agricultural products throughout the island. Some of the
most famous DOP and IGP products are listed below, each followed by the name of the region where it's cultiv-
