Decorated with verve and boasting a prime location in Ortygia, this is Syracuse's best
B&B. There's a lovely bohemian feel, with books and pieces of antique furniture juxta-
posed against bright walls. In an old
palazzo
at the end of Via Roma, it's run by the super-
friendly Simone and Alessandra. The sunny roof terrace with sweeping sea views makes a
perfect breakfast spot.

The recently refur-
bished L'Acanto remains a very popular, value-for-money B&B, now with a more modern,
stylish feel. Rooms have been lifted out of the tired and traditional with several charming
vintage furniture pieces and murals - check out the beautiful Sicilian carriages and puppets
gracing the walls. It's set around a pretty internal courtyard.
The B&B is run by the same family as the B&B dei Viaggiatori, Viandanti e Sognatori.
