car park under Piazza della Repubblica it's a 10-minute walk or so to the central Piazza
Duomo - follow Via Del Mercato, then Via XI Febbraio; go left up Via Ten Di Stefano
then along its continuation, Via Capitano Bocchieri. If taking public transport you will ar-
rive in Ragusa Superiore, whose main streets are Via Roma and Corso Italia. From the up-
per town a local bus runs down to Giardino Ibleo in Ragusa Ibla.

Getting There & Around
BUS
AST ( www.aziendasicilianatrasporti.it ) and Interbus-Etna Trasporti ( www.etnatrasporti.it ) buses serve the bus
station at Via Zama in Ragusa Superiore. There are regular connections to Catania (€8.30,
one hour and 50 minutes), Syracuse (€6.90, 2¼ hours) and Modica (€2.40, 25 minutes).
City buses 1 and 3 run from Piazza del Popolo in the upper town to Piazza Pola and the
Giardino Ibleo in Ragusa Ibla.
CAR
If coming from Modica 15km away, or Syracuse some 90km to the northeast, take the
SS115.
Unless your hotel has parking or can advise you on where to park, your best bet is to
leave your car at the car park below Piazza della Repubblica in Ragusa Ibla; much of the
old town is closed to nonresidential traffic.

Trains run to Modica (€2.25, 20 minutes, five to six Monday to Saturday) and Syracuse
(€7.65, two hours, two Monday to Saturday).
