Getting There & Around
BUS
AST ( 095 723 05 35; www.aziendasicilianatrasporti.it ) runs a daily bus from Catania to Rifugio
Sapienza (return €5.60) via Nicolosi, departing at 8.15am and returning at 4.30pm.
Between 15 June and 15 September there's a second departure, leaving Catania at
11.20pm. Ferrovia Circumetnea ( 095 54 12 50; www.circumetnea.it ) operates infrequent weekday
buses between Catania and Linguaglossa (€4.40, 1¼ hours).
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
Nicolosi is about 17km northwest of Catania on the SP10. From Nicolosi it's a further
18km up to Rifugio Sapienza. For Linguaglossa take the A18 autostrada from Catania,
exit at Fiumefreddo and follow the SS120 towards Randazzo.
